Another molestation case: Why to question only Badal Saheb?
Rapes are in vogue! Delhi gang-rape; Mumbai photojournalist rape case and now another bus molestation case of a 15 year old innocent girl while she was travelling with her mother and brother, died on the spot after trio were forced to jump off a moving AC bus. The more focus has been stressed on bus service that belonged to junior Badal Saheb instead of highlighting the grieve concern of family belonging to Moga.
How many cases to be filed with court of justice? How many culprits or better term ‘rapists’ will be hanged? What is the best solution? Candle-light marches? Silent protests? I wonder! But at the same time I’m feeling low on the thinking of culprits. So horny they are? Bloody people!
Earlier, the news of Delhi girl gang-rape had fetched the heed of almost every woman around the nation. My full sympathies are with the victims in every case. During the above case, I read the opinions of a novelist and activist Arundhati Roy on the Delhi rape issue and I completely agreed to her remarks. I was then and I am now too in favor of the question raised by her that ‘Why the Delhi folk started protesting now only, besides prior rape cases are pending in the courts yet to be resolved’?
Woman has been used as a sex-toy for many years. The male dominated society uses her in order to satisfy his sexual needs without thinking what would happen to her in future. Being a male, I am ashamed of that brutal gang who used weapons and raped the innocent during Delhi case. The entire Capital and other cities of nation thronged on the streets and shouted for the justice to the guilty.
But the question arises here is ‘What is the final solution?’
Remember the days when youth of nation gathered to favor the anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare? Candle light marches, rallies, seminars, interviews of biggies were highlighted to the larger extent thinking that the Jan Lok Pal bill would come into force. What happened? We saw the team separation forming a political party by another hero Arvind Kejriwal of ‘India Against Corruption’.
Roy truly questioned that where people were when the rape cases of Muslim women in Gujarat and other Dalit women were came to limelight? Why then the people didn't raise their voice? The youth of nation continuously updated their Facebook statuses demanding the death penalty for the gang. I completely support their concern. But I would like to ask the question here ‘Do you think with these marches and statuses (changing display pictures to a black dot etc) the government would awake from its deep slumber’? I don’t think so! As the issue of Jan Lokpal Bill is vanishing slowly similarly this case would also be put on delay.
There can be no permanent full-stop to the crimes against women. But yes, the point has come when government as well as police administration must pull up their socks in order to save the glory of our nation i.e. women! Stringent actions must be taken against the guilty on the spot and such cases should not be hanged up as it easily increases the confidence of similar bad people who are out on streets in order to satisfy their pleasure needs. Speedy trials of cases should be enforced like in abroad rather than questioning the authorities regarding the owner of buses!
