My take on Salman Khan verdict-Keep his star value aside, law is equal for all

‘I should be treated as an ordinary citizen,’ truly said by B-town superstar and philanthropist Salman Khan. He said this during the proceedings of his hit-and-run trial in which he has been sentenced to five year imprisonment.

His innocent fans are all against the decision taken. The social networking sites especially Facebook is full of thunderous messages by his fans. But according to me, no doubt the star has been tagged as ‘philanthropist’ and he has indeed worked for society under his label ‘Being Human’, but does it mean that he can kill anybody or violate all the rules? We say, law shall be equal for everyone, so implement this to everyone.

Salman Khan, is undoubtedly a big name in Hindi film industry. He has entertained the masses since years with his blockbusters. Prior Bollywood actor, he was a common man too. I have heard a couple of times by aam-admi saying that law is not equal for all especially when it comes to stars or big-wigs. And now if court of law is treating appropriately, people are raising their voices against it. Confused Indians!

Keeping his social work into due consideration, the court has reduced his sentence from ten to five years. What else do you expect? People are raising questions that why Salman Khan when other criminals are freely roaming outside. Dear readers, we have known since long that several criminal cases in India are delayed to a larger extent. Culprits of Delhi gang-rape case are behind bars. Yes, I can understand that due to owing the celeb status, his case of run and hit has been noticed and is delaying 2002. It’s his kismet. He is not going behind bars for the first time.

So dear readers have a wider perspective of this case, otherwise, in future, don’t blame the law for doing injustice or discrimination in any other cases. We can all pray for Khan’s well-being inside so that when he comes out, he could manage to retain his stature once again.
